El gobernador de Bolívar, Yamil Arana Padauí, realizó una visita de inspección al avance del estadio de béisbol menor del barrio Los Cerros, en Cartagena, una obra que busca recuperar un espacio deportivo clave para la comunidad. El escenario, que permaneció durante años en abandono, avanza hacia una transformación integral que lo proyecta como un nuevo punto de formación deportiva y recreación para niños y jóvenes.
Un proyecto enfocado en el desarrollo deportivo
Durante el recorrido, el mandatario destacó el impacto que tendrá la obra en la formación de talento local: “Aquí han nacido grandes talentos y queremos que, con estas condiciones, salgan los próximos Grandes Ligas de Los Cerros y sus alrededores; esta obra será otro batazo, como los otros escenarios que estamos construyendo de manera paralela”.

El estadio forma parte de un plan que incluye la construcción y recuperación de cinco escenarios deportivos en Bolívar, entre ellos los ubicados en Las Gaviotas, El Socorro, Santa Rita y el municipio de Arjona.
Infraestructura moderna para uso comunitario
El proyecto contempla una modernización completa del estadio de béisbol menor en Los Cerros, con elementos clave para su funcionamiento:
- Grama sintética
- Dugouts nuevos
- Camerinos y baños
- Graderías y sillas
- Locales comerciales
- Iluminación LED para uso nocturno
Estas mejoras permitirán ampliar el uso del escenario y fortalecer la práctica deportiva en diferentes horarios.
Deporte como herramienta de transformación social
El gobernador reiteró el enfoque social de la inversión en infraestructura deportiva: “Serán escenarios dignos que van a llenar de orgullo a la comunidad y que le apuestan al deporte como herramienta de transformación social. Muchos jóvenes ven en el deporte una oportunidad para salir adelante y nosotros queremos mostrarles que ese es el camino”.
El proyecto busca impactar directamente a jóvenes del sector, ofreciendo condiciones adecuadas para el desarrollo deportivo y la integración comunitaria.
Avance de la obra y fecha estimada de entrega
La construcción del estadio avanza de manera satisfactoria y su entrega está prevista entre finales de 2026 y comienzos de 2027, según lo informado durante la visita oficial.
Llamado a la sostenibilidad de los escenarios
El mandatario también hizo énfasis en la importancia del cuidado de estos espacios: “Estos escenarios se construyen con recursos de los bolivarenses y deben mantenerse en el tiempo como patrimonio de todos”.
Continuidad de obras en Bolívar
El gobierno departamental reiteró que continuará ejecutando proyectos de infraestructura deportiva hasta el final del mandato, en articulación con autoridades locales para impulsar el desarrollo en Cartagena y otros municipios.
